Do you remember building projects as a boy? If you're like many, you probably grew up building things with Legos or K'nex or even with Popsicle sticks.
But there was that one project that you really wanted to do, but you thought it was over your head. It may have been an advanced Erector Set, Revell plastic car or ship model, or even a AM/FM radio. You wanted to prove that you could do it and more than anything you wanted to learn HOW THINGS WORKED.
Do you remember opening the box up for the first time? There were so many parts! And the blueprints and drawings! They were fantastic in all their details! But the instructions seemed over-whelming and you were tempted just to give up.
But at your side was a mentor. Perhaps it was your father, grandfather, uncle or mentor. He helped focus your energy and excitement and begin the process of learning how to follow those instructions and to begin to assemble your project. Piece by piece, with gentle guidance and explanation, he helped you build.
If it weren't for that man at your side, helping you to understand and work through each step, you likely would not have been able to complete the project. More than that, your mentor EXPLAINED things to you as you went along, helping you to learn.
MENTORING OUT OF THE BOX - ELECTRICITY is an activity-driven discipleship kit for men who want to share the joy of learning how electricity works and to teach them the biblical principles of diligence. It was made for men who want to start making an investment into boys so that they are better equipped for life-long godly living.

MENTORING OUT OF THE BOX - ELECTRICITY has all you need to begin mentoring and discipling boys and to share with them the discovery of electricity!
Each Electricity Kit provides the essential materials and supplies needed for you and other men to lead up to five (5) boys through a fun-filled, activity-driven adventure! Over the suggested course of four gatherings, you'll not only teach them the fundamentals of electricity, but you will share time together learning about the biblical topic of diligence.
We've made it EASY for any man to get started! The included Game Plan will provide you with the step-by-step information necessary to help support you throughout the mentoring process. Best of all, we encourage you to invite other men (and their boys!) to share the journey with you!

MENTORING OUT OF THE BOX - ELECTRICITY includes a copy of our Electricity Leader's Guide.
The Leader's Guide provides a detailed framework for you (and any man helping you!) to plan, prepare and lead the activity-driven group meetings - we recommend at least four - with the boys you've invited. While the Leader's Guide is intended for use in Christian Service Brigade's full program, the included ELECTRICITY SUPPLEMENT explains how to maximize using the Leader's Guide for electricity with the adjusted schedule we recommend for MENTORING OUT OF THE BOX.
The Leader's Guide (and corresponding Outpost Adventure that is used by the boys) is designed to help men teach the biblical principles of Diligence. Boys are presented with fun-filled activities that teach them about electricity while at the same time learning aspects of diligence!
MENTORING OUT OF THE BOX - ELECTRICITY was designed to be done together with other men. You don't have to do this alone! Share the journey and experience with other men: Your friends, brothers, uncles, like-minded dads, or even men of the church. You will end up having support and encouragement (and some shared commitment) throughout the mentoring adventure as you team up to mentor a group of boys
Who knows? You may end up strengthening your own relationships with the men around you as you share this Mentoring Adventure together!

MENTORING OUT OF THE BOX at its core is meant to help men lead, equip, and disciple today's boys to be able to be stronger, more capable, and more equipped as they begin their own life journey.
Look back at your own life. There were times when another man made an investment into you, helping to walk with you through life's ups and downs. He imparted knowledge and wisdom that made you stronger, better able to weather life's storms and to be more capable of living life more fully.
Now it's your time to pay it forward. Whether it's your own son, your neighbor's boys, or the boys of your church or community, they are all in need of what you have to offer. As God's Word commands us as men,
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise." — Deut. 6:4-7
Just think about how a small investment of your knowledge, skills, experience, and wisdom could impact even one boy. More than that, imagine how much impact your leadership and your demonstration of godly love will have on a boy in need.
